As one of Australia's leading pioneers advocating for socio-political trauma-sensitive change and informed responsiveness to UNnecessary trauma in the Health, Education, Justice and Government sectors, I recognise the transgenerational effect collective trauma has on our current society and this work is at the leading edge of healing and transformation.
As a society here in Australia we are experiencing great suffering that only appears to be on the increase. Our social issues such as Domestic & Family Violence, Mental Health and the health of the public are all worsening. Many of our workplaces are toxic and in over 4 decades of observations in my own workplaces, I've found that a high percentage of workplaces experience staff burnout, stress, increased sick days taken, staff dissatisfaction, decreased productivity, bullying, and poor staff morale which has a massive impact on the bottomline of any business or organisation.
These issues are not only harming the fabric of society, they are also costing us increasingly phenomenal amounts of money for zero improvement. We absolutely need to do something different! And that's where I can help!
My programs are created with the conscious intention of getting to the core of the issue, which means that not only is the current presentation of the challenge explored, the collective transgenerational unresolved trauma that remains unresolved and is currently impacting every aspect of our society is also taken into consideration.
Healing Humanity Through Truth® is my independent research project that commenced at the beginning of 2021 where we explored what is needed for unity between First Nations People and White Australians. During the year I facilitated 12 systemic constellation days. Each monthly systemic constellation day sought to unearth what the next step is toward healing the white lineage from our unresolved collective cultural trauma perspective.
Healing Humanity Through Truth® is bringing into reality a 20 plus year dream. I first drew the Retreat Centre over 25 years ago and now feel I have everything I need academically, experientially and emotionally to be able to see this vision come to reality. The vision for the Retreat Centre is to host decision makers from Australia and around the globe through an immersive program away from their normal environment.
Rescuing and caring for animals has been something I've always done and aspire to create a much more impactful enterprise helping traumatised animals recover and live free of suffering and experience safety and love. It's my way of giving back to animals who have always been a place of refuge for me from a very young age.
I believe we do not need one more person creating the same solution we repeatedly see and offer the opportunity to look through a different lens for solutions. As Einstein says, " We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking that created them."
My second daughter's trauma at the very young age of 6 months was from a rare childhood cancer that affects the retina in the eye (she survived and was left totally blind by the age of 3) which was an incredible trauma to live through. As well as my own significant and long term childhood trauma led me to my studies and subsequently my own trauma recovery. I became the therapist I wished I could have found. I'm committed to changing the trajectory of trauma on a collective, cultural, community, family and individual level and eliminate all UNnecessary trauma through education and training in trauma sensitivity.
I believe that change needs to occur at leadership levels within the Private Sector as well as in the Health, Education, Justice and Government level globally to be able to make the sustainable change that is needed to resolve our societal issues. I know this is a massive vision and I trust that the right people will be drawn to it and leave a legacy worth leaving for our children and grandchildren.
