Your nervous system is designed to follow natural rhythms: the gentle rise of dawn, the midday peak, and the evening wind-down. But trauma and modern life have severed this connection, leaving you feeling chronically out of sync and exhausted.

The Disconnection
When we're out of alignment with nature's rhythms, our bodies exist in a state of constant stress. We force productivity when we need rest, push through when we should pause, and maintain artificial schedules that ignore our biological needs. This creates a low-grade stress response; your nervous system never knows what to expect or when it's safe to truly relax. It may not even know how to relax.

For trauma survivors, this disconnection is often deeper. Hypervigilance makes it hard to trust your body's signals. Dissociation pulls you away from natural awareness. The need to control keeps you locked in artificial patterns that feel safer than surrendering to natural flow.

Some of The Causes

  • Artificial light: disrupting circadian rhythms;
  • Constant productivity demands: ignoring energy cycles;
  • Disconnection from seasons: through climate issues and indoor living;
  • Ignoring hunger, fatigue, and emotional cues: in favour of schedules;
  • Cultural messages: that rest is laziness and sensitivity is weakness.

Practice: The Daily Rhythm Reset
This week, choose ONE natural rhythm to reconnect with:

Morning: Instead of immediately checking your phone, spend 2-3 minutes feeling your body wake up. Notice your energy building naturally.
Midday: Take a 5-minute walk outside, even if it's just around the building. Let your nervous system remember that there's a world beyond screens.
Evening: Dim your lights 30 minutes before bed. This simple act may signal safety to your nervous system and prepare you for restorative sleep.

The Healing
When you align with natural rhythms, your nervous system remembers how to regulate itself. You stop fighting your body and start working with it. This is about reconnecting yourself to the rhythms of nature not perfection. Nature is imperfectly perfect. Small steps toward natural alignment create profound shifts in how safe and regulated you feel in your own skin.

Your body is waiting for permission to remember how to dance with nature's rhythms.

I love hearing from you and receiving your updates, so please keep them coming.

May you be well, may you be happy, and may you have inner peace.
